Denison Men Out in Front at Home Invitational

Jesse Felker posted a -1 70 in Rd. 1.

GRANVILLE, Ohio — Denison men's golf is in the lead after the first round of the Denison Spring Invitational at Denison Golf Club. The Big Red posted an opening round score of 284 and lead second-place Wittenberg by five strokes. Ohio Wesleyan (294), DePauw (312), and Wabash (317) sit in positions three through five, respectively.

Jesse Felker led the way with a career-low, one-under-par round of 70. His round was highlighted by four birdies, three of which came in a four hole stretch on No. 9, No. 11, and No. 12.
Marc Mitchell and Sam Davis followed with even-par rounds of 70. Both rounds included four birdies and four bogeys with birdies on two of the par-5s.
Will Grady and Ben Scherman rounded out the top 5 with rounds of 72 and 74, respectively. Grady's round was punctuated by five birdies, while Scherman logged a pair of birdies.

Denison will finish the two-day tournament on Sunday, April 18. Tee times will begin at 10 a.m.
