COLUMBUS, Ind.—Denison men's golf is off to a strong start at the 10-team Hoosier Heartland D3 Challenge at Otter Creek Golf Club. The Big Red played 36 holes of golf on Saturday posting a 295 in round one and 310 in round two. The Big Red sits in second place heading into Sunday's final round.
- In round one, Denison got three even-par rounds of 72 from Ben Scherman, Marc Mitchell and Will Grady. Griffin Hayden followed with a 79 and Jesse Felker shot 83. Scherman and Mitchell both opened their day with eagles on the par-5 first hole. Mitchell followed with five birdies in his opening round.
- In round two, Mitchell and Grady paced DU with three-over par rounds of 75 while Hayden and Felker shot 80.
Transylvania is six shots in front of Denison at 599. The tournament will finish on Sunday, April 11 with a single, 18-hole round.
