Denison men's lacrosse opened the season ranked seventh in the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) Coaches Poll. This ranking comes on the heels of a No. 8 ranking by US Lacrosse Magazine last month. The Big Red is the only team from the North Coast Athletic Conference, or the midwest region, to appear in the USILA Top-20.
After a promising 4-0 start to the COVID-19 shortened 2020 season, head coach
Mike Caravana will look to rebound after losing a talented 10-member group from the Class of 2020 that was led by All-American and Academic All-America attackman
Peter Pittroff.
Doug Godine and
Ethan Tyack scored six goals apiece while playing all four games last season and Reeves McKenny went 4-0 while posting a .620 save percentage in 211 minutes in the cage.
The last decade has been the most successful stretch in the storied history of the Denison program. Since 2011, the Big Red are 143-24 (.856) and have made one NCAA Final appearance and four Elite Eight appearances during that stretch.
A schedule for the upcoming 2021 season has not been announced. Details on the upcoming season is forthcoming.
