GAMBIER, Ohio--  The Denison men's swimmers made the short drive to Gambier for the Kenyon Fast Chance Invitational for one final shot at improving qualifying times for next month's NCAA Division III Championship.  While no new cut times were posted, a number of season-best performances were recorded.

In the 100 butterfly, Andrew Kurlich recorded a personal best time of 51.22 in the event.  Sean Griffenkrantz placed third in the 200 freestyle time trial and finished with a season-best time of 1:40.76.  Trey Ike (1:41.82) and Noah Houskeeper (1:41.49) also swam the event for the first time this season.

Ethan Bevill won the 200 IM with a time of 1:50.43 and Jacob Edwards won the 500 free with a time of 4:36.09. 

In the 100 free, Chase Fisher logged a personal best time of 45.84. He also finished second in the 50 free in 20.80.

After logging a 'B' cut in the 200 fly at last week's NCAC Championship, Matt Reed won the event but failed to improve upon his time, touching in 1:50.98.  Nick Czepukaitis rounded out the top performances with a victory in the 200 free in 1:39.59.  He reached a 'B' cut in the event last week, touching in 1:38.38.

Denison returns to action on March 18-21 at the NCAA Division III Championship.  The Denison divers will be in action on Feb. 28-29 at the NCAA Central Diving Regional that will be hosted by Denison. Entries will be announced early next week.
