GRANVILLE, Ohio-- No. 2 Denison suffered a 210.5-63.5 loss to the No. 1 ranked team in NCAA Division II, Indianapolis on Friday night at the Trumbull Aquatics Center.
The Big Red logged two event wins as Trey Ike took first in the 50 free with a time of 20.93 and Mitch Williams finished first in the 400 IM with a time of 4:07.20.
In the two diving events, Liam Simmons posted NCAA Regional qualifying scores on both boards as he placed fourth in the 3-meter event with a six-dive score of 301.05. On the 1-meter board, Simmons placed sixth with a score of 276.98.
In the 200 breaststroke, Noah Houskeeper was the runner-up with a time of 2:10.07. Drake Horton touched second in the 100 free in 46.70. He was followed in third and fourth, respectively by PJ Desmet, and Chase Fisher. Horton also posted a second-place finish in the 200 free after hitting the wall at 1:42.46.
Richie Kurlich placed third in the 200 fly in 1:52.45 while Dayen Wilson and Michael Arpasi both turned in third-place showings in the 500 free and the 200 fly, respectively.
Denison returns to the pool next Saturday, Feb. 1 when they host Youngstown State and Ohio Wesleyan at 10 a.m. at the Trumbull Aquatics Center.
