Perrett's gem sends Denison into championship

Box Score

CHILLICOTHE, Ohio--  Taylor Perrett fired a complete game four-hit shutout to lead Denison to a 7-0 victory over Allegheny in game five of the 2019 North Coast Athletic Conference Tournament.  With the win, Denison advances to face Wooster in the championship series.  Denison will need to defeat the Fighting Scots twice in order to win the NCAC Championship.  Game six is scheduled to begin on Friday at 2:45 p.m.

After Thursday's split versus Allegheny and Wooster, Perrett's gem was exactly what Denison was looking for on Friday.  He did not allow an extra-base hit and walked only two on 117 pitches.  Perrett improved to 5-1 with the win.

DU took the lead with a four-run third inning that was started off by an RBI fielder's choice by Will Krushena with the bases loaded.  After yesterday's two-run home run tied the game against this same Gator team, Brian McAuliffe delivered once again with a double to the gap in right-center, scoring Grady Paine and Krushena.  Vince Walker followed with an RBI single through the left side to give Denison a 4-0 lead.

The Big Red (36-7) added a run in the fourth on an RBI single by Krushena and two more in the seventh via a sacrifice fly by Walker and a single by Cam Farren.
