Greensboro, North Carolina - Head Coach Mike Deegan has been named ABCA/ATEC Division III National Coach of the Year and Region 7 Coach of the Year for the third time in his coaching career. Associate Head Coach Ryne Romick has been named Assistant Coach of the Year by ABCA/Soldier Sports. The two led the Big Red to its first national championship in program history.

Deegan was named Coach of the Year after completing one of the most dominant seasons in Division III baseball history. The Big Red finished 51-3, while also tying Trinity (Conn.) for most consecutive wins with 44. Denison won the NCAC Championship and Tournament Championship, while also winning their second-straight Super Regional Championship, and capping it off with a 4-3 10-inning thriller against Endicott College in the NCAA Tournament Championship to capture the program's first-ever national title. Coach Deegan also recently reached his 400th win in a victory over Oberlin College earlier this year and currently holds a 429-158 (.730) record at Denison.

This season, Deegan coached 12 All-Conference players, eight All-Region players, and six All-Americans while also earning Region 7 Coach of the Year honors from d3baseball.com.

Romick, who is in his 10th season with the Big Red and fifth as Associate Head Coach, led a pitching staff to a dominant 2026 campaign en route to their championship win. Denison ranked among the top 10 in the country in earned run average (3.13), shutouts (10), strikeout-to-walk ratio (3.02), strikeouts per nine innings (9.4), and WHIP (1.26). Robbie Lee, Andrew Montero, and NCAC Pitcher of the Year Will Rettig all received first-team All-Conference honors. Montero would also receive Newcomer of the Year honors after a dominant rookie season on the mound.

Along with postseason recognition, Rettig was named third and fourth team All-American from ABCA/Rawlings and d3baseball.com, and Devin Parker garnered fourth team honors from d3baseball.com. Cooper Marrs earned World Series All-Tournament honors after pitching 14 innings in two games, giving up no runs and striking out 16.

During his time at Denison so far, Romick has coached eight NCAC championship teams, six NCAC Tournament championships, eight NCAA Regional Tournament appearances, three Super Regional appearances, two Super Regional championships, two World Series appearances, and a national championship.
