INDIANAPOLIS - Denison men's tennis advanced to Sunday's North Coast Athletic Conference championship match following a 5-1 defeat of DePauw University in the conference semifinals on Sunday in Indianapolis.
The Big Red posted a 3-0 start in doubles play when Tim Cianciola and Mitchell Thai took down Greg Frauenheim and Bryce McClanahan in the top flight, 8-3. Kevin Brown and Blake Burstein defeated Wyatt Metzger and Billy Louiselle 8-6 on the No. 2 court before sophomores Vlad Rotnov and Brian Weisberg posted an 8-0 sweep of DePauw's Alex Bertolini and Will Sultan.
In singles action, Cianciola and Thai tallied victories in No. 1 and No. 4 play to send the Big Red to the NCAC Final for the second-straight year.
Advancing to Sunday's title match, the 25th ranked Big Red will play top-seeded Kenyon College at a time to be determined in Indianapolis. This will be the second consecutive year that Denison will play the 11th ranked Lords in the championship match in Indianapolis.
