CRAWFORDSVILLE, Ind.-- Denison closed out competition at the 2019 NCAA Division III Diving Regionals from Wabash College the Big Red entered five competitors across the women's 3-meter and men's 1-meter board.
On the women's 3-meter board, Denison went 7-8-9-13 in the final standings led by junior Naomi Clayton who placed seventh out of 27 divers with an 11-dive score of 416.80. Allison Fitzgerald followed in eighth place at 412.70 while senior Emma Weber placed ninth at 398.50. In 13th place, first-year Mattie Stauss posted a score of 388.80 after an eighth-place finish in Friday's 1-meter competition.
In the men's 1-meter dive, Liam Simmons placed 10th with a score of 407.10. His best single-dive score came on his ninth attempt, an inward 1 1/2 somersault pick that landed a score of 56.40.
Qualifiers for the 2019 NCAA Division III Championships will be announced on Monday, March 4.
