Box Score HIRAM, Ohio-- Denison broke the program's single-game record for assists with 19 as they sailed to a 26-2 victory over Hiram College on Saturday at Henry Field. With the win, Denison improves to 12-2 and 6-0 in the North Coast Athletic Conference.
The Terriers got on the board first as they scored via a free position attempt 12 seconds into the contest. Over the next 10 minutes, Denison's offense was clicking as they scored 11 goals before 10 minutes elapsed in the game which activated the continuous running clock.
Claudia Rafi and Leah Israel notched hat-tricks within the first seven minutes of the game and by halftime, Lee Hayman and Kiely Noonan joined the club.
In the second half, DU outscored the Terriers 6-2. The 26 goals were one shy of the program record set in 1996 against Earlham College. Denison's 45 points shattered the team single-game record of 39 that was set last year against Hiram.
Noonan led the way with four goals and five assists on five shots. Israel, Rafi, and Hayman finished with four goals apiece and Maddy Heher logged three goals and one helper. Lindsey Karsh added two goals and one assist while Liza Farnman (1 goal, 1 assist), Ally Zimmer (1 goal, 1 assist), Halle Walsh (1 goal, 2 assists), Graham McIntosh (1 goal) and Hope Adams (1 goal) rounded out the scoring.
Sierah Ray scored both goals for Hiram and led all players with 10 draw controls.
Denison will travel to Greencastle, Indiana on Wednesday, April 25 for a 6 p.m. contest against DePauw.
