GAMBIER, Ohio -- In preparation for next month's NCAA Division III Championship Denison made the short treck to the Steen Aquatic Center seeking 'B' cuts and time drops at the Kenyon Fast Chance Invitational.

Headlining the day's performances was junior Jake Ball who posted the nation's third-fastest time this season in the 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:00.22 to punch his ticket to Indianapolis.

The butterfly events also proved to be valuable for DU as Aaron Saccurato checked in with a personal-best provisional qualifying time of 1:48.81 in the 200 fly and Liam Marsden-Readford tied his PR and posted a season-best 'B' cut in the time trials of the 100 fly at 48.83. Stuart Hohm also logged a PR of 49.90 in the 100 fly.

The 400 IM belonged to freshman John Stauffer who dropped his personal-best to 3:59.29. The same can be said for Nick Froemming in the time trials 200 backstroke where he clocked in at 1:48.42 for a new personal record.

In the 1,650 freestyle, Jackson Berman led all competitors with a PR and 'B' cut time of 15:49.30. Ben Burdick also chipped in a provisional qualifying time of 15:49.57, just .27 seconds behind Berman.

In the 100 free version of the time trials, PJ Desmet set a new personal-best and NCAA 'B' cut time with a 45.41. He also posted the same accolades in the 100 backstroke, touching the wall in 49.60.

Ryan Klemptner logged a 21.11 in the 50 free and a time of 46.58 in the 100 free which were both PR's.  

In 200 free action, Matt Hedman clocked in with a new personal low of 1:41.89, while Kymani Senior logged a new PR time of 1:42.81 in the time trials.

No diving took place at Kenyon on Saturday.

The next stop for the Big Red will be Indianapolis, Ind. where they will take part in the 2018 NCAA Division III National Championships held on March 21-24.
