GRANVILLE, Ohio-- Denison men's golf returns for their fall season with a slate of five tournaments and a new head coach at the helm of the program. In August, Jason Badecki left his post at Eastern University to become the head men's and women's golf coach at Denison.
As the first full-time head coach of both programs, Badecki primed to get his student-athletes back to campus and back on the golf course. With veteran juniors Knox Montgomery and Daniel Hirsh studying abroad during the fall semester, there will be plenty of opportunities for returnees and newcomers alike to crack the varsity lineup.
"If we play disciplined and together, making winning choices each day, we will accomplish a great deal," noted Badecki. "Some key goals for this year's team will be to play unselfish golf for each other while developing a winning mindset and believing we can win every tournament that we tee it up in. This is going to be a big transition year that I am so excited to get underway."
The men begin the fall season at The Battle at the Brook, hosted by Ohio Wesleyan University at Plum Brook Country Club in Sandusky, Ohio on Sept. 9-10. The following weekend they will travel to The Links at Spring Church in Apollo, Pennsylvania for the Carnegie Mellon Fall Shoot-Out.
On Sept. 23-24, DU will travel to Danville, Indiana for DePauw University's Dan Quayle Classic. The only new tournament of the fall will be the Mason-Dixon Collegiate hosted by McDaniel College at The Bridges Golf Club in Abbottstown, Pennsylvania. The fall season will close out on Oct. 15-16 with the NCAC Preview at Westbrook Country Club in Mansfield, Ohio.
