KALAMAZOO, Mich.-- No. 19 Kalamazoo defeated the Denison men's tennis team, 6-3 on Sunday at the Markin Center.
Denison's Jamie McDonald and Owen Smith accounted for all three of the Big Red's points in the loss to the Hornets. In doubles, the duo defeated Eric De Witt and Zack Ray, 8-6.
At second singles, McDonald took down Daniel Henry in three sets, 6-4, 2-6, 7-5. Smith got the victory at No. 3 singles after a 6-3, 6-2 win over Noah Karoub.
The Big Red drop to 1-4 overall but are still ranked 35th in the most recent Intercollegiate Tennis Association Division III poll. Kalamazoo improves to 5-0. Denison returns to action on Monday, March 13 when they take on Occidental in Glendale, Calif.
