COLUMBUS, Ohio-- Denison made the short trip to the McCorkle Aquatic Pavilion where they dropped a tri-meet against Division I foes, Ohio State and Akron. The Big Red suffered a 201-92 loss to the Buckeyes and fell to the Zips, 207-92.
Denison was led on Friday night by sophomore KT Kustritz who won the 100 breaststroke with an 'A' cut time of 1:01.51. That time came close to topping her personal best time of 1:01.46 set at last year's Miami Invitational.
After her win in the 100 breast, Kustritz returned with a fourth-place finish and 'B' cut in the 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:17.50. She was also a part of the runner-up 400 free relay team along with Casey Kirby, Gabriella Nutter, and Mia Chiappe. The foursome touched in 3:32.24.
In the 500 freestyle, Natalie Zaravella took third with a time of 5:09.95. Erica Hsu finished sixth in 5:17.51.
Halli Garza turned in a pair of sixth-place finishes in the 200 IM with a time of 2:11.59 and the 200 fly in 2:05.85 which was also a 'B' cut performance. In the backstroke events, Kirby logged a pair of top-six finishes. She touched fifth in the 100 back in 57.20 and was sixth in the 200 backstroke after hitting the wall in 2:05.76.
Maddie Hopkins posted a fourth-place showing in the 100 fly with a time of 57.76. Angela Le followed in sixth-place in 58.39.
In diving, Allison Fitzgerald placed sixth on the 3-meter board with a six-dive score of 204.80.
Denison returns to action on Saturday, Nov. 4 when they host Xavier University at 1 p.m. at the Trumbull Aquatics Center.
