DELAWARE, Ohio—Top-ranked Denison put the finishing touches on their 2016-17 dual meet schedule with a 171-79 victory over Ohio Wesleyan University. The Big Red won 11 straight swimming events before the meet went exhibition status with three events to go.
Walter Dauksher paced DU with wins in the 100 and 200 freestyles. In the 100, he posted a time of 46.71 and came back with a 1:43.82 to win the 200.
Victor Lowe was victorious in the 50 free after touching in 22.15. In the 500 freestyle, it was Francis Biagioli (4:48.61) and Oli Waldram (4:51.06) who finished 1-2 in the standings.
Bebe Wang touched first in the 100 backstroke after a time of 53.59. He also posted the best time in the 100 IM (55.51). In the 100 butterfly, Jason Wesseling got the victory after a time of 52.55. PJ Desmet and Tiernan Foster-Smith swam on the winning 200 medley relay team with Kymani Senior and Eric Gerlach. Desmet and Foster-Smith returned to win the 50 back (24.94) and 50 breaststroke (26.83), respectively.
Jake Ball (100 breast – 59.25), Zach Wagner (25 free – 10.08) and Christian Kelly (50 fly – 23.56) rounded out the top performances for Denison.
The Big Red resumes competition in 11 days at the 2017 North Coast Athletic Conference Championship.
