Denison sits 4th in NCAC Championship Series

The Big Red men's golf team moved into fourth place in the 2016 North Coast Athletic Conference Championship Series standings after firing a 302 on Sunday at Boulder Creek Golf Club in Streetsboro, Ohio.

Junior Jonathan Taylor rebounded from an opening-round 83 by turning in a team-best 74 on Sunday afternoon. He finished the event in a tie for 19th with 157 strokes. Taylor's classmate Guille Henegar also finished the tournament tied for 19th after carding a 75 in the second round.

Senior Richard Van Voorhis finished one stroke behind Henegar on Sunday, ending the weekend in a tie for 16th at 155. DU's best two-day performance came from sophomore Robbie Whitman who finished in a tie for 10th at 151 following a 77 on day two.

Wittenberg will enter next weekend's NCAC Championship Event Series finale with a 15-stroke lead over Allegheny after firing a 579. Alleghney shot a 594, while Kenyon sits third at 603. Denison is fourth with 615 strokes followed by Ohio Wesleyan (618), Wooster (633), DePauw (639), Wabash (690) and Hiram (704).

The final two rounds of the 2016 NCAC Championship Series will take place next weekend at the Wooster Country Club in Wooster, Ohio.
