#5 Denison clinches NCAC title

Fifth-ranked Denison clinched the program's 16th North Coast Athletic Conference Championship on Saturday afternoon in Crawfordsville, Indiana following a 25-4 win over Wabash College. 

Denison enters next week's conference tournament with a 14-1 record and a perfect 8-0 mark in conference play.  The Big Red will be the No. 1 seed and they will host No. 4 seed, Wooster, at 8 p.m. on Wednesday, April 27.  The winner of Wednesday's semifinal will play in the NCAC Tournament Championship on Saturday, April 30 at the site of the highest remaining seed.

Seventeen different Denison players got in the scoring column on Saturday in the Hoosier State.  Freshman Brooks Davy led the offense with three goals and two assists. He also led the team with three caused turnovers.

James Meager, Owen Armstrong and Liam Rooney all scored two goals while Carson McCann tallied four points with two goals and two assists.  Blair Farinholt and Jack Thomas chipped in two goals and one assist.  Riley Johnson and Will Donohue finished with one goal and one assist while DU's remaining goals came from Chris Haimbaugh, Khalig Howard, Patrick Lunt, Michael Haueisen, Aidan Maher, Jake Waxter, Alex Paulus and Liam Burman.

Eric Baumgardner won 7-of-10 faceoffs and led the team with five ground balls.  Jack Ruff was 4-for-6 with three ground balls and Justin DeMarchi was 5-for-7 with two ground balls and one assist.

Will Nabors paced Denison with four saves in the cage for DU.  Wabash was led in scoring by Tucker Dixon with two.

DU outshot Wabash 49-16 while winning 21-of-33 faceoffs. 

The Denison Sports Network will provide live video of Wednesday's NCAC Tournament semifinal versus Wooster.  Faceoff is slated for 8 p.m. with pregame starting at 7:50 p.m.
