The 35th-ranked Denison men's tennis team extended their current winning streak to three straight following a 7-2 victory over Wooster on Wednesday afternoon in Granville, Ohio.
The Big Red found themselves in a 2-1 hole after doubles play. The second doubles team of Owen Smith and Jamie McDonald prevented the sweep with an 8-3 victory over Titas Bera and Harrison Suttle. With the win, Smith and McDonald improved to 3-0 as a double team this season.
Those two doubles points were all the Fighting Scots would score as Denison took all six singles points. Both McDonald (6-2, 6-2) and Smith (6-3, 6-2) were victorious at second and fourth singles, respectively, while freshman Kevin Brown defeated Bera 6-2, 6-1 at the top flight. Jackson O'Gorman-Bean took down Kieran McTague 6-2, 7-5, while Colin Bahin (6-3, 6-4) and Costas Alevizopoulos (6-3, 6-2) rounded out the scoring with wins at the No. 5 and No. 6 flights.
Denison improved to 7-4 with the win, while the loss drops Wooster to 8-8. The Big Red returns to action on Saturday when they travel to Oberlin for an 11 a.m. match.
