Denison men's tennis opened its indoor season at the DeWitt Tennis Center in Holland, Michigan with a 9-0 win over Hope College.
Denison rolled through singles play with six, straight-set victories. Kevin Brown led the way with a 6-4, 6-0 win over Michael Kiley at No. 1 singles. Jamie McDonald was a 6-2, 6-2 winner over Andrew Klein at second singles while Jackson O'Gorman-Bean also notched a 6-2, 6-2 win over Christian Rhoades at third singles.
In flights four through six, Denison's Jack O'Koniewski, Colin Bahin and Owen Smith all recorded wins.
In doubles play, Brown and O'Gorman-Bean teamed up for an 8-2 win over Klein and Sam Kreps out of the first flight. A win at second doubles went to the team of O'Koniewski and Blake Burstein, 8-6. McDonald and Smith would give Denison a 3-0 lead heading into singles play after their 8-2 win.
Denison improves to 2-0 in dual matches this season. They will return to the courts on Friday, Feb. 12 when they host Pacific University from Forest Grove, Oregon at 5 p.m. inside Mitchell Fieldhouse.
