YPSILANTI, Mich.-- Denison opened their dual meet schedule on Saturday against Division I Eastern Michigan University. The Eagles prevailed, 191-104 from Jones Natatorium.
Senior diver Brian Allen recorded Denison's lone first place finish in an individual event with his six-dive score of 306.75 in the 3-meter dive. Max Levy followed in third place with a score of 288.00. On the 1-meter board, Levy was the runner-up at 297.58. Allen took third at 260.33 while first-year Michael Burke totaled a score of 229.65 to take fourth.
In the final swimming event of the day, Kenny Fox, Max Howes, Eric Gerlach and Stuart Hohm teamed up to win the 400 free relay in 3:07.95. Hohm also was the runner-up in the 500 free in 4:39.62 and was third in the 200 free in 1:42.12.
Jake Ball logged a second-place finish in the 100 breaststroke in 59.35 and took third in the 200 breast, touching in 2:10.16. Ryan Stevenson followed in fourth place in 2:13.47.
In the sprint freestyle events, Kenny Fox finished second in the 50 free in 21.44 while first-year Kymani Senior placed third in 21.73. Howes was DU's top performer in the 100 free after his second-place time of 47.29. Fox and Senior returned later in the meet to go 2-3 in the 100 fly with times of 51.21 and 52.27, respectively.
First-year Bebe Wang took fourth in the 200 back in 1:52.44 and was second in the 200 IM after a time of 1:54.46. Last week's NCAC Swimmer of the Week, Jack Lindell, placed third in the 200 IM in 1:56.73.
Fourth-place showings were turned in by Jason Wesseling in the 100 back (52.54) and Aaron Saccurato in the 200 fly (1:55.43). In the 1,000 freestyle, Denison's Matt Hedman, Ben Burdick and Jackson Berman went 2-3-5, respectively. Hedman touched in 9:43.29 while Burdick and Berman followed in 9:49.09 and 9:58.35.
Denison returns to competition on Nov. 4 when they take on Ohio State at the McCorkle Aquatic Pavilion.
