Denison dropped a 216-84 dual meet at Division I Pittsburgh on Saturday afternoon from Trees Pool in Pittsburgh. Despite the loss, the Big Red did post two event wins and four second-place swims.
Denison's victories would come from Brendan Howley in the 100 breaststroke after his winning time of 57.19. He also swam the final leg of the winning 200 free relay team along with Jason Wesseling, Alec Carlson and Stuart Hohm. The relay closed out the meet with a winning time of 1:24.24.
In addition to Howley's pair of wins, he also turned in a third-place finish in the 200 breaststroke in 2:10.12 and was a part of the third-place 200 medley relay (1:34.38) with Wesseling, Jack Lindell and Ryan Fleming.
In the 200 freestyle, Max Howes took second-place after his time of 1:43.72. Hohm was the runner-up in the 500 free in 4:37.05.
In addition to swimming the anchor leg on the 200 medley relay, Fleming touched second I the 100 free in 46.43. He also logged a third-place showing in the 50 free after hitting the wall in 21.54.
In the backstroke events, Lindell finished third in the 200 in 1:52.90 and was fourth in the 100 with a time of 52.28. Wesseling led DU in the 100 back with a second-place finish and a time of 51.61. He also touched fourth in the 100 fly in 51.98 while Lindell took the bronze in the 200 IM in 1:54.85.
In diving, Max Levy, Ben Lewis, Brian Allen and Nathan Lightman went 3-4-5-6, respectively in both events. Levy posted six-dive scores of 318.53 (1-meter) and 325.28 (3-meter) while Lewis followed with scores of 309.15 (1-meter) and 307.65 (3-meter).
Denison will return home to the Trumbull Aquatics Center next Saturday, Jan. 23 when they host Carnegie Mellon at 1 p.m.
