Kenyon College outscored Denison 14-0 over the final 3:31 to pull off a 74-58 win over the Big Red on Wednesday night at Livingston Gymnasium.  Kenyon got a career-high 30 points from Brien Comey and the Lords shot 53 percent from the field.

The visitors opened up a 12-point lead five minutes into the second half.  With 10:21 to play, Darius White canned a 3-pointer after a steal by Devon Pitts to cut the deficit to 52-46.  With a predominantly reserve squad on the court, DU clamped down defensively and held the Lords without a field goal over a seven-minute stretch.

With 4:49 to play, Andrew Castagnetti connected on his second 3-pointer within two minutes to trim the lead to three at 59-56.  After Kenyon's Tim Connolly split a pair of free throws, Comey committed an offensive foul on a drawn charge by Pitts.  He stepped up and knocked down both free throws to make it a 60-58 came with 3:31 to go.  Denison would not score again.

Kenyon ended the game by going 6-for-6 from the free throw line and 3-for-3 from the field to close out the win.

Castagnetti led Denison with nine points in 16 minutes off the bench.  He was 3-of-8 from the field and 3-for-5 from beyond the arc.  Matthew Bauer and White both chipped in eight points.  Pitts paced the Big Red on the glass with seven rebounds.

Comey was 12-of-17 and 6-of-8 from the line for 30 points. He also led all players with 10 rebounds in only 28 minutes.  Connolly added 14 points, five rebounds, four assists and four steals.

Kenyon held a 38-25 advantage on the boards and were 25-of-47 from the field (.532).  Denison connected on 23-of-61 shots but struggled from deep, going 5-of-21 from 3-point range.

Denison falls to 7-7 and 2-5 in the North Coast Athletic Conference while Kenyon moves to 6-8 and 3-4 in league play.  The Big Red will look to bounce back on Saturday when they host Allegheny College at 3 p.m.
