No. 25 Denison got back in the win column on Saturday following a 7-2 win over Allegheny from Granville, Ohio. Playing outdoors for the first time this spring, the Big Red battled back from a 2-1 deficit after doubles play by sweeping all six singles matches.
In doubles, Denison's lone point came from senior Heather Abzug and junior Sarah Torrence. The defeated Michaela Thompson and Kirstie Oravec, 8-4.
In singles, Torrence would defeat Andrea Brush, 6-1, 7-6 (7-0) in the fourth flight and Abzug would top Oravec, 6-0, 6-1 in the sixth flight.
At No. 1 singles, Taylor Hawkins made short work of Sun Mo Koo, 6-0, 6-1 and Meg Chiumento knocked off Mikaela Pope, 6-0, 6-0.
At No. 3, Rochell Issa got a win over Sloane Prince, 6-0, 6-1 and Maddie Boster rounded out the singles sweep with a 6-1, 6-2 win over Thompson.
Denison improves to 12-5 setting up a clash with No. 14 DePauw tomorrow in Granville. The match will begin at 10 a.m.
