DU picks up eighth win of 2015

Denison's men moved to 8-8 on the year following an 8-1 victory over Allegheny College on Saturday in Granville, Ohio. 

The Big Red battled through some tightly contested doubles matches, taking all three points.  DU's regionally ranked pair, Grant Veltman and Jackson O'Gorman-Bean defeated Tyler Triolo and Thomas Manning, 9-8 which sent the Big Red into singles play with some momentum.

At No. 2 doubles, Casey Cempre and Jeffery LoDuca earned Denison's first point by defeating Sam Stpehenson and Alexander Hurtuk, 8-3.  At third doubles, Jack O'Koniewski and Owen Smith prevailed, 8-6.

In singles play two matches went to a third set as Veltman edged Triolo, 2-6, 6-1, 10-7.  Manning would pick up the Gators' lone point with a 6-3, 6-7 (5-7), 10-8 win over O'Gorman-Bean at No.2.  Casey Cempre improved to 5-1 when playing out of the third flight when he dispatched Hurtuk, 7-6 (7-3), 7-5).

DU's three remaining singles points would come via straight set wins from O'Koniewski, LoDuca and Smith.

Denison will return to the courts tomorrow when they host North Coast Athletic Conference divisional rival, DePauw at 2 p.m.
