Buckeyes get the better of Big Red

Denison's men suffered a 174-112 loss at the hands of the Division I Ohio State Buckeyes on Friday night at the McCorkle Aquatic Pavilion. 

The Big Red got a pair of victories late in the meet from first-year Ryan Stevenson.  He took first in the 200 breaststroke in 2:12.15.  He also won the 200 IM in 1:58.97.

Sophomore Stuart Hohm finished first in the 500 free in 4:50.38 and he checked in fifth in the 1,000 free with a time of 9:52.61.

Senior Conrad Wuorinen was a part of the winning 200 free relay, the fifth-place 400 medley relay in addition to his fourth-place time of 21.58 in the 50 free and his fifth-place time of 47.33 in the 100 free.

Senior Andrew Rich won the 100 fly in 52.38 while also swimming on the 400 medley relay.  In the 100 breast, Brenden Howley took third in 59.05.  Mitch Williams finished fourth in the 200 fly in 1:59.17 and Jason Wesseling took sixth in the 100 back.

In the 200 backstroke, Jack Lindell posted a sixth place finish in 1:56.49 and Max Howes rounded out the top swimming finishes touching in fifth in the 200 free in 1:45.17.

In diving, Max Levy placed sixth on both boards after a 275.48 score on the 1-meter board and a 319.13 total on the 3-meter.

Denison will return to the pool on Saturday, Nov. 7 when they host Xavier University at 1 p.m. from the Trumbull Aquatics Center.
