Denison men's tennis improved to 9-4 on the season following an 8-1 win over Oberlin College on Saturday at the Heisman Field House.
The Big Red swept doubles play as the team of Juan Guerra and Grant Veltman defeated Soren Zeliger and Ian Paik, 8-5. In the second flight, Andrew Marczak and Casey Cempre dispatched Abraham Davis and Callan Louis, 8-4. In the final doubles match, the duo of Jackson O'Gorman-Bean and Jeffrey LoDuca fought for an 8-6 win.
In singles action, O'Gorman-Bean picked up Denison's fourth point with a 6-2, 6-1 win over Charlie Marks. Oberlin responded with a singles win at No. 1 as Paik stopped Marczak in three sets, 6-3, 3-6, 6-3.
Veltman would clinch the win with a three-set victory over Zeliger, 5-7, 6-4, 6-2. A second three-set win would come out of the second flight as Cempre battled back for a 2-6, 6-0, 7-6 win.
At No. 5 singles, Graham Gettel handled Davis in straight sets, 6-2, 6-0. The final point of the match came from Owen Smith who stopped Paul Farah, 7-5, 6-1.
Denison will return to action on Tuesday (April 8) when they host Kenyon College at 4:30 p.m.
