William Paterson scored two runs in the bottom of the eighth inning to edge the Denison Big Red, 7-6, from Chain of Lakes Park in Winter Haven, Fla.

Through five innings, Denison trailed 4-1, but an RBI single from Andrew Touhy, followed by a 3-run homer by Lascelles Lagares vaulted the Big Red into a 5-4 lead.

William Paterson would tie things up in the sixth, but Denison would plate the go-ahead run in the top of the 7th, taking back a 6-5 lead.

The Pioneers' big inning would come in the eighth when they scored twice to lock up the victory.  William Paterson improves to 5-5 on the year, while Denison drops to 3-7.

Georgie Montes and Conner Madey each went 3-for-4 at the plate.  Connor Murphy got the start on the mound and worked four innings, allowing four earned runs off eight hits.  Connor Hanrahan took the loss in relief. He pitched 3.2 innings, allowing three earned runs while striking out four.
