Ramapo rallies to edge Big Red

Ramapo used a four-run bottom of the seventh to rally past the Denison baseball team, 5-3, on Wednesday evening at Lake Myrtle Park in Auburndale, Fla.

The Big Red gained the early lead thanks to two first-inning runs and held a 3-0 advantage after three frames.  Trailing 3-1 heading into the seventh, the Roadrunners put up four in the bottom of the seventh to take a 5-3 lead.

Georgie Montes legged out two doubles, while Alex Enrique also had two hits, an RBI, a run scored and a stolen base.  Duncan Moran also collected two hits and drove in a run, while Charlie Apfelbach swiped two bags and scored once. Junior Ian Barry suffered the loss after allowing five runs (four earned) on six hits with two strikeouts.

Kevin Kelly led Ramapo with two hits, including a double, and two runs, while Jose Garcia drove in a pair. Tyler Curto picked up the win in relief after tossing 4.2 scoreless innings.  Curto struck out five and walked five in the win.

Denison returns to the diamond on Thursday when they take on fifth-ranked Wisconsin-Stevens Point at Lake Myrtle Park in Auburndale, Fla.  First pitch is scheduled for 1 p.m.
