Freshman Andrew Rich posted four victories in Denison's 170-116 decision over North Coast Athletic Conference foe Wittenberg on Friday evening from the Trumbull Aquatics Center in Granville.
Rich opened his breakout night as a member of the victorious 200 medley relay team. The team of Sean Chabot, Ben Snader, Rich and Ryan Fleming finished the race in 1:35.41. The rookie also swept the butterfly events on Friday night. Rich touched in at 51.95 in the 100 fly race and followed that up with a time of 23.15 in the 50 fly. The first-year's fourth and final win came in the 400 freestyle relay where he anchored the winning relay team. Nick Spaniel, Chabot, Joe Brunk and Rich completed the race in 3:11.82.
In addition to Rich and Chabot, Snader and Fleming also won multiple events. Snader won the 50 breaststroke after clocking in at 27.20, while Fleming's time of 21.64 earned a win in the 50 freestyle.
Also picking up victories were senior Gabe Dixson, juniors Jackson Humphrey, Carlos Maciel and Spencer Fronk, and sophomore Dan Hellman. Dixson finished first in the 1-meter dive with a score of 308.18. In the 1650, Humphrey touched in at 17:02.21 to earn the win, while Maciel posted a time of 1:46.68 in the 200 free. Fronk finished the 50 back in 24.18, while Hellman clocked in at 5:02.59 in the 500 freestyle.
Denison (4-1, 3-0 NCAC) returns to the pool next Saturday when they travel to Grove City for a 1 p.m. dual meet.
