The 30th-ranked DePauw Tigers handed No. 29 Denison a 6-3 North Coast Athletic Conference setback on Sunday afternoon in Greencastle, Ind.
The Big Red avoided the doubles sweep with a win at second doubles. Seniors Tom Cawood and Tim Martin picked up their 10 victory at No. 2 doubles following a 9-7 decision over Michael Rardon and Reid Garlock.
In addition to his doubles success, Cawood also posted a straight-set victory (6-3, 7-5) over Sam Miles at the top singles flight. The win marked his 17th singles victory, 13th at the first flight and fourth straight. The senior is now 9-1 in his last 10 matches.
Juan Guerra also notched a 6-1, 6-0 win over Chris Bertolini at third singles en route to his second-straight victory and 10th overall.
Denison falls to 13-4, while DePauw improves to 15-7. DU returns to action on Saturday at the NCAC Championship hosted by Kenyon College.
