Denison improved its score by 21 strokes on Saturday to finish in ninth place at the 14-team Capital University Purple & White Invitational from the Westchester Golf Course in Canal Winchester, Ohio.
The Big Red was led on Saturday by Stacey Adams' 85 and Amanda Castle's 87. Castle led DU with a pair of 87s, placing her in a tie for 20th on the leaderboard. Adams' 85 came after a first round 97 and her two round total of 182 landed her in a tie for 32nd place.
Elizabeth Tristano followed on Saturday with a 99 and Carly Schultz closed out the scoring with a 100. The team championship went to Bethel College (Ind.) at 637. Otterbein took second at 671. Mount Union's Mary Snode was the medalist after an even-par 72 on Friday and a two-over par, 74 on Saturday.
