Season Preview: 2026 Women's Golf

Granville, Ohio - The Denison women's golf team looks to continue their dominance in the NCAC, as last season they captured their fifth consecutive NCAC Championship along with their fifth-straight coaching staff of the year honors. The Big Red bring back most of their experience with All-conference winners across the board.

2024-25 Recap

The Big Red produced yet another excellent season on the green, as Denison finished sixth or better in all of their invitationals in the spring season. At the NCAC Championship, the Big Red delivered, securing their fifth consecutive NCAC Championship title. Rising junior Lizzy Grant finished the highest for the Big Red, securing second overall shooting a total of 231 (+15) to receive first team honors and all-tournament team. In the NCAA Tournament, the team finished 16th while Siena Maschke advanced all the way to the final round, finishing 38th with a final score of 304 (+16). Rising senior Isabella Dolan tied for fourth, also earning first team distinction and all-tournament honors. Rising junior Natalia Fanucchi tied for sixth with NCAC Newcomer of the Year Siena Maschke, and Ella McRoberts finished 10th, giving the Big Red five top-10 placers. 

The fall saw similar results from the previous season, as the Big Red took second in the Lynn Schweizer Invitational, and the next week were crowned champions at the Transylvania Fall Invitational. They finished out the season with a fourth-place showing at the Historic Triangle Invitational, displaying strong performances across the fall.

Key Returners

Natalia Fanucchi - Fanucchi earned second team All-NCAC honors last season, as she finished tied for sixth with a score of 235 (+19). At the NCAA Tournament, shot 83-72 in the first two rounds of play to end her sophomore season. Fanucchi had a stellar start to her junior season, as in the fall, she finished top-11 at the Lynn Schweizer Invitational and Transylvania Fall Invitational, and was the highest Denison finisher at the Historic Triangle Invitational.

Siena Maschke - The Big Red to make it the farthest in the NCAA Tournament, Maschke has high expectations heading into her sophomore year. She finished sixth at the NCAC Tournament while also receiving Newcomer of the Year honors along with WGCA Region Four/Great Lakes All-Region team. At the NCAA Tournament, Maschke carded a total score of 304 over a four round tournament, with 72 being her lowest score and finished tied 38th. During the fall, she finished second at the Transylvania Invitational, and was 22nd in a loaded Historic Triangle Invitational.

Lizzy Grant - The two-time All-NCAC performer looks to add onto her illustrious Big Red career. Grant finished second at the NCAC Championships last season, shooting a total of 231 for +15. Her efforts earned her WGCA Region Four/Great Lakes All-Region Team, and participated in the NCAA Tournament, where Denison finished 16th. She had another productive fall campaign, with her highest finish being fourth at the Transylvania Fall Invitational.

Isabella Dolan - The former NCAC Newcomer of the Year, Dolan enters her senior year with valuable experience and play to elevate the Big Red. At the NCAC Championship, Dolan placed fourth with a total score of 234 to earn All-tournament honors. In the fall, she was the highest finisher of the Big Red at the Lynn Schweizer Invitational, finishing fifth with a total score of 153. Dolan has earned three NCAC Athlete of the Week honors during her Denison career.

Anna Klass - Klass enters her senior year among some of the conference's best, as she was first team All-NCAC her sophomore year. She put up a strong showing in the fall, placing in the top-10 in two invitationals. Klass had a season-low and career-low of 74 at the Pioneer Classic, and finished with a total score of 155.

Coaching Dominance: Head coach Lauren Grogan and assistant coach Alex Jones have been on a tear throughout the NCAC, winning coaching staff of the year honors for the fifth-straight season, and winning the NCAC Championship title five years in a row.

A Look at the Schedule

Denison will travel to Mount Berry, Georgia for the Savannah Harbor Invitational from March 9-10 in a 36-hole tournament. They then will travel to Jekyll Island, Georgia for the Jekyll Island Intercollegiate the week after, then head out to Richmond, Virginia for the Max and Susan Sith Invitational March 30-31.The team travels back close to home as the Big Red travel to NCAC foe Wittenberg University for the Pahhni Spring Intercollegiate from April 19-20. The Big Red finish off the regular season at NCAC foe DePauw on April 26 before gearing up for the NCAC Championships at Avalon Lakes in Warren, Ohio from May 1-3.
