A four-run first inning wouldn't be enough for the Big Red, as host Bluffton utilized a six-run fifth inning and a four-run eighth inning to top Denison, 13-9.

Justin Vaske was 2-for-4 with an RBI and three runs scored.  Sophomore Clayton Culler stroked a bases clearing triple in the bottom of the ninth, scoring three runs.

Kevin Bratcher got the start and allowed seven runs while scattering nine hits in 4 1/3 innings pitched.  Kyle Colgain worked 2 2/3 innings of relief, giving up two earned runs off four hits while striking out two.  Philip Seay pitched the eighth inning for DU.

Bluffton totaled 17 hits and was led by Miles Richardson and Nick Broyles who each posted three hits apiece.  Halen Core earned the win for Bluffon.  He pitched six innings and allowed five hits and four earned runs.  David Ianiro pitched three innings of relief, earning his first save of the season.

The loss sends Denison's record to 5-13 while Bluffton improves to 8-10.
