Box Score Kenyon handed Denison a 2-0 setback behind a pair of second-half goal by Becca Romaine on Tuesday evening in Granville, Ohio.
Despite trailing in shots 5-4 at the intermission, the Big Red had the lone quality scoring chance when Maddy Regan unloaded a shot off a crossing pass from Keara Kilbane. However, the Regan blast was blocked away at the goal line by Charlotte Detchon to keep it a scoreless contest.
Just two minutes and 48 seconds into the second period, Katie Blake dropped off a short pass to Romaine from roughly 25 yards out. The sophomore forward uncorked a shot that found its way into the lower left corner to give Kenyon a 1-0 edge.
In the 52 minute, Romaine struck again this time without any help. Romaine dribbled down the right side of the field and uncorked a shot that deflected off the Denison keeper and into the back of the net.
The Ladies held a 14-8 advantage in shots, including a 5-4 edge in shots on net. Lauren Wolfe made three saves, while Andrea Karl and first-year Shannon Casey posted one and two saves, respectively. Kilbane and junior Lauren Jay each posted two shots to pace the Denison attack.
