The Big Red recorded six multiple-event winners en route to a 266-129 victory over Wabash on Saturday afternoon from the Trumbull Aquatic Center in Granville, Ohio.
Junior Jackson Humphrey led all Denison swimmers with three event titles. Humphrey swept the I.M. events on his way to a three-victory day. The junior touched in at 53.83 in the 100 I.M. and posted times of 1:56.39 and 4:09.77 in the 200 and 400 I.M., respectively.
Also posting multiple victories were senior Quinn Bartlett, juniors Al Weik and Sean Chabot, sophomore Ben Snader, and freshman Andrew Rich. Bartlett took both the 100 and 200 backstroke events with times of 53.89 and 1:55.60. Weik was victorious in the 200 free after touching in at 1:44.24. He also won the 500 free with a time of 4:38.48. Chabot's victories came in the 100 freestyle (47.21) and a second 200 freestyle race (1:45.58).
Snader and Damon Rosenburg combined to sweep the breaststroke events for DU. Snader captured the 50 (27.73) and 200 (2:12.82) breast titles, while Rosenburg posted a time of 1:00.59 in the 100 breast. Rich claimed victory in the 50 and 100 butterfly events on Saturday. The rookie turned in a time of 23.41 in the 50, and followed that up with a 53.24 performance in the 100 fly. Also earning a win for the Big Red was three-time national champion Spencer Fronk. Fronk won the 50 free event after touching the wall at 21.84.
In the diving portion, sophomore All-American Connor Dignan broke the school's three-meter six-dive record, previously held by teammate Gabe Dixson. Dignan totaled 357.53 points, besting the previous record of 355.95, en route to a first-place finish. In the one meter, Dixson took home the gold with 300.30 points.
Denison returns to action on Friday when they travel to The Ohio State University for a 6 p.m. dual meet.
