The Denison women's swimmers and divers returned to North Coast Athletic Conference dual action with a convincing win over Wittenberg on Friday night in Springfield, Ohio.
The Big Red logged 14 victories en route to their 87-point win and were led by a number of multi-event winners. Natalie Lugg paced DU with three wins in the 50 breaststroke, the 100 breaststroke and as a part of the 200 medley relay. In the 100 breaststroke Lugg posted a time of 1:07.68 and in the 200 medley relay along with Sarah Yu, Brenna Broadus and Morgan Nuess, the foursome clocked a time of 1:48.94.
Yu was also a winner in the 50 backstroke in 28.45 while Nuess and Broadus posted wins in the 100 free and 50 fly, respectively.
Katie Collins swept the diving events with a score of 207.00 in the 3-meter and 220.35 in the 1-meter dive, which was also a new season-best score. Emily Schroeder won the 1,000 freestyle in 10:43.79 and Elizabeth Flaherty took the top spot in the 500 free in 5:16.69.
In the 200 freestyle, Hilary Callen touched in 1:55.57 to win the event and Laurel Brabson would take the 100 fly in 59.32. Molly Willingham and Alyssa Swanson rounded out the winners with victories in the 100 back and 50 freestyle, respectively. Willingham posted a time of 1:00.68 while Swanson checked in at 24.33 seconds.
The Big Red will return to Gregory Pool for a dual meet against the University of Toledo on Jan. 20 at 5 p.m.
