Box Score 2 After opening the North Coast Athletic Conference schedule with a pair of wins, Denison posted a 1-1 mark on the final day of the NCAC Weekend hosted by Kenyon College.
DU improved to 3-0 in the NCAC following a three-set victory over rival Ohio Wesleyan University (25-15, 25-16, 25-18) in Sunday's opening match. In their final match of the tournament, Hiram halted Denison's winning streak with a 3-0 (25-18, 25-15, 25-22) decision over the Big Red.
Against OWU, senior Lauren Strowder paced the DU attack with 11 kills, while senior Claire Koneval and first-year Jessica Borsani dished out 25 and 10 assists, respectively. Brittany Brannon logged 18 digs to pace the defense, and Megan Early blocked six shots.
Against the Terriers, Strowder logged nine kills, and Koneval dished out 30 assists. Defensively, senior Brooke Beavers had 16 digs, while Early recorded three blocks.
The Big Red runs their overall record to 8-8 and their NCAC mark to 3-1. Denison returns to action on Saturday (Oct. 1) when they welcome Allegheny College to Granville.
