Adams and Castle lead Big Red to runner-up finish

One week after posting a new team record for 18 holes, the Big Red shattered that mark by 23 strokes en route to a second-place finish from the Denison Fall Invitational at Granville Golf Course.  The Big Red finished just two strokes behind Otterbein University.

DU was led by first-year's Stacey Adams and Amanda Castle who carded rounds of 82 and 83, respectively.  Adams and Castle's rounds were the second and third-best 18-hole rounds in school history.  Adams finished her round with seven pars and one birdie on the par-5, 10th hole.  Castle also posted seven pars on her way to her round of 83.  Adams and Castle placed second and third in the final individual standings as medalist honors went to Hiram's Kritsinee Khowcharoen who shot an 80.

Following the pair of first-year's was junior Elizabeth Tristano who carded a 91 and sophomore Carly Schultz who posted a 96.

Otterbein totaled 350 strokes as a team, followed by Denison's 352.  Capital followed in third place with 372 and Ohio Wesleyan took fourth with a 382.  Fifth-place went to Wooster with 404 strokes and sixth-place was held down by Hiram with a 460.

DU will compete next weekend in the 36-hole DePauw Small College Invitational.
