The Denison men's tennis team continued their string of nationally ranked opponents on Tuesday in Atlanta, Ga. as the fourth-ranked Emory Eagles handed the Big Red an 8-1 loss.
Denison picked up their lone point at No. 2 doubles where Jared Connolly and Tim Martin defeated Eric Rothschild and Ayush Bajoria, 8-5. A first doubles, Matt McErlean and Tyler Cempre were edged 9-8 by Chris Goodwin and Will Humphries and in singles play, Tom Cawood dropped a tight first set (7-6) to Colin Egan before falling in the second set, 6-3.
Denison drops to 1-3 while Emory improves to 13-2. The Big Red will return to action on Thursday (March 17) when they take on Hobart at 3 p.m. in Hilton Head, S.C.
