In their final test before the 2011 NCAA Division III Championship, the Denison men's swimming team posted a victory at the Kenyon Invitational in Gambier, Ohio. DU totaled 416 points and Kenyon finished in second with 227 points.
Denison had a number of NCAA provisional qualifying times spread throughout the regular events and the time trials. Michael DeSantis posted a season-best and NCAA 'A' cut time of 50.21 in the 100 backstroke time trial to punch his ticket to Knoxville.
First-year Sean Chabot posted NCAA 'B' cuts in the 100 backstroke (51.16), 200 backstroke (1:50.29) and the 200 free (1:41.13). His brother, Kyle Chabot, recorded a 'B' cut in the 100 fly.
Carlos Maciel Neto turned in a 'B' cut in the 200 freestyle time trial with a time of 1:41.11 and Jackson Humphrey posted a provisional time in the 200 fly (1:52.96) and the 400 IM (4:01.59). Denison's other qualifying time came from Jay Haney in the 1650 free time trial in 16:15.59.
