The Big Red improved its first round score by 10 strokes on Sunday but Denison held firm in 13th place at the 18-team Pat Clouse Invitational from Windy Knoll Golf Course in Springfield, Ohio.
Denison was paced on Sunday by first-year Stacey Adams who improved her Saturday score by three shots, firing a second-round 83. Adams finished in a tie for 29th overall with a two-round total of 169. Following one stroke behind in the final standings was teammate Amanda Castle who shot an 84 on Sunday.
Coming in third for Denison was Carly Schultz who posted a 96 for a two-day total of 187. Elizabeth Tristano had her best day of the tournament and improved her first round score by 12 strokes with a 92.
Denison's two-round total was 720 and they finished 39 shots in front of 14th place, Ohio Wesleyan. They also finished just one shot behind 12th place Urbana University. The team championship was awarded to Washington University.
