The Denison women's golf team fired a 401 en route to a seventh-place finish at the Allegheny Invitational from the Meadville Country Club in Meadville, Pa. Due to cold weather and rain, the tournament was shortened to 18 holes.
First-year Stacey Adams led the Big Red with a 90 after shooting a pair of 45s on the front and back nine. Adams finished the 57-person field in a tie for 23rd. Also helping the DU cause was junior Elizabeth Tristano who carded a 93. Tristano finished in a tie for 34th place after firing a 49 on the front and a 44 on the back.
Sophomores Carly Schultz and Parker Shea rounded out the Denison scoring. Schultz was tied for 42nd after turning in a 102, while Shea finished tied for 53rd with a score of 116.
DePauw won the team title with a score of 320, while Walsh (327) and Allegheny (335) rounded out the top three spots. Mercyhurst's Caitlin Kempton took home medalist honors after winning a scorecard playoff with the Tigers' Abby Dickey.
Denison closes out the fall season next weekend at the Pat Clouse Invitational hosted by Wittenberg University. The two-day tournament will take place at Windy Knoll Golf Club in Springfield, Ohio.
