Denison notched their second dual meet victory of the season on Saturday, following a 158-100 victory over North Coast Athletic Conference foe, Ohio Wesleyan. The Big Red posted victories in the first 11 events of the meet and the team racked up six season-best times out of those 11 wins.
Junior Alyssa Swanson paced Denison with wins in the 50 and 100 freestyle. The 14-time All-American picked up season-best times and NCAA provisional qualifying times in each race. In the 50 free she posted a time of 23.83 to win by nearly two seconds. In the 100 free Swanson touched in 51.89, outdistancing her nearest competitor by three seconds.
In the 200 butterfly, Laurel Brabson also posted a 'B' cut, season-best time while winning the race in 2:07.60. Lindsay Zeberlein posted her best swim of the year in the 100 backstroke with a winning time of 59.51 and Brenna Broadus won the 100 breaststroke in 1:09.01.
Hilary Callen pulled away from the pack in the 1,000 freestyle with a time of 10:26.82 and Tully Bradford was a winner in the 200 free with a time of 1:57.47. She edged teammate Sarah Yu by 0.41 seconds.
In the 1-meter dive, Katie Collins picked up the win with a score of 183.23 and Lilla Grisham placed first in the 200 breaststroke in 2:32.81. In the opening relay of the meet, Yu, Natalie Lugg, Broadus and Morgan Nuess posted a season-best time of 1:47.60 to win the 200 medley relay.
Denison will return to the pool on Friday when they take on Division I powers Ohio State, Virginia Tech and Cleveland State at McCorkle Aquatic Center on the campus of Ohio State University. The quad-meet begins at 6 p.m.
