Box Score Searching to get back to the .500 mark for the first time since Sept. 28, the Denison Big Red got a much-needed 3-1 North Coast Athletic Conference victory over Oberlin on Saturday in Oberlin, Ohio.
The win over the Yeowomen was the second consecutive victory for the Big Red, which now sits in a tie for fourth place in the NCAC standings with Wittenberg, a team that Denison knocked off 1-0 on Thursday.
Trailing 1-0 early in the first half after Oberlin's Hannah Combe punched in the first goal of the game, Denison first-year Maddy Regan lofted a shot over the head of keeper Kate Frost to knot the score at 1-1 in the 15th minute. Regan's goal was set up by a pass from sophomore Lauren Jay.

At 55:44, freshman Grace Cronin crossed a pass in front of the goal and found Regan to give the Big Red its first lead of the game. The goal was the first-year's third of the season and marked her first-career multiple goal game. Just three minutes and 16 seconds later, sophomore Jocelyn Festle added an insurance goal when she blasted a shot from 18 yards out off a pass from Cronin.
Denison outshot Oberlin 25-5 for the game, forcing Frost to make nine saves. Denison goalie Andrea Karl saved two of the three Yeowomen shots on goal. In addition, the Big Red held a 10-0 corner kick advantage.
