The Denison University men's tennis team picked up their 15th victory of the 2010 season following a 9-0 win over Oberlin College on Tuesday afternoon in Granville.
The No. 1 doubles team of Nate Hobrath (Strongsville, Ohio/Walsh Jesuit) and Matt McErlean (Hudson, Ohio/Hudson) improved to 13-1 on the year after defeating Ben Turchin and Joe Leffler 8-6. At second doubles, Tim Martin (Oak Park, Ill./Oak Park and River Forest) and Jared Connolly (Oak Park, Ill./Oak Park and River Forest) tallied their team-leading 16th victory of the season by way of an 8-0 decision over Eliot Heaton and Sam Towne.
In singles play, Tom Cawood (East Lansing, Mich./East Lansing) and Martin each posted 6-1, 6-0 victories at the first and third flights, respectively. Hobrath logged his 14th win via 6-0, 6-0 decision over Leffler. Also garnering wins for DU were Adam Seeley (West Hartford, Conn./William H. Hall) and Chase Curtis (Hamilton, Mass./Hamilton-Wenham) at fourth and fifth singles.
Denison improves to 15-2 on the year, while the Yeomen fall to 3-18. The Big Red returns to the court on Wednesday (April 14) when they host nationally-ranked Kenyon College at 4:30 p.m.
