The Big Red poured in 18 goals and four players scored three times as Denison rolled to a 18-3 victory over Linfield College in McMinnville, Ore.
Denison, who improves to 2-1 with the victory, jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the opening three minutes of the contest. They would go on to score 10 goals in the first half and 16 of the game's first 17 goals.
DU was led in scoring by Phoebe Myhrum (Pittsburgh, Pa./Shady Side Academy), Jenny Strathern (Worthington, Ohio/Thomas Worthington), Alex Thurner (Cincinnati, Ohio/Summit Country Day) and Molly Sbrega (Portland, Maine/Deering) who each scored three goals. Myhrum, Thurner and Strathern also added one assist apiece.
First-year goalie Hannah Minife (Dalton, Mass./Miss Hall's School) got the start in goal and posted three saves. Denison outshot Linfield 24-12 while controlling 15 of 21 draws.
The Big Red will close out their west coast trip with a match against Birmingham-Southeastern on the campus of Pacific University in Forest Grove, Ore. on Wednesday at 4 p.m. EST.
