Joe Meehan's 33 points led Lebanon Valley (Pa.) past the Denison Big Red, 73-65 to close out the Land of Magic Classic from Daytona Beach, Fla.

Denison trailed 41-37 at halftime and was outscored by four points in the second half.  The Big Red got 16 points from first-year Alex Longi (Cincinnati, Ohio/St. Xavier) and sophomore Dimonde Hale (Columbus, Ohio/Northland) posted 14 points and a game-high 10 rebounds.  DU shot 34 percent from the field and were just 7 for 23 from 3-point range.

Lebanon Valley connected on 46 percent of their field goal attempts and were 20 of 24 from the charity stripe.  Meehan had a huge game, scoring 33 points off a 10-for-16 shooting performance. He was also 11 for 14 from the free throw line.  In addition to his 33 points, Meehan also led his team with six assists in 37 minutes.

In addition to Longi and Hale's double-digit effort, Mike Garabedian (LaGrange, Ill./Nazareth Academy) scored 11 points while snaring nine rebounds.  Denison committed only 10 turnovers but lost the battle of the boards, 41-36.

Denison will return to Ohio to prep for a North Coast Athletic Conference clash against No. 8 Wabash in Crawfordsville, Ind. on Jan. 5 at 7:30 p.m.  Twelve of Denison's final 13 games this season will be against NCAC opponents.
