Big Red drops road game at Case

Reid Anderson scored a game-high 24 points helping Case Western Reserve to a 67-57 victory over the Denison Big Red on Tuesday night from Horsburgh Gymnasium.

The Spartans jumped out to a 10-2 lead early in the first half and never relinquished their lead, en route to the 10-point victory.

DU did cut the Case lead to six points with one minute left in regulation, but Anderson would connect on a key 3-pointer with 32 seconds left to give his team a nine point lead and put the game out of reach for the Big Red.

Denison struggled offensively, connecting on 22 of 61 field goal attempts for 36 percent.  They were also outrebounded 36-26.  On a positive note, the Big Red committed a season-low five turnovers while forcing Case Western Reserve into 16 turnovers that they turned into 12 points.

DU was led in scoring by senior Chris Luther (Dayton, Ohio/Oakwood) who scored 19 points off an 8 for 16 performance.  Larry Farmer (Gurnee, Ill./Warren Township) stuffed the stat sheet with 11 points, six rebounds, four assists and four steals in 33 minutes.

Following Anderson's 24-point effort for Case was Tom Summers who finished with 11 points and 12 rebounds in 34 minutes.  The victory improves Case's record to 3-1 while Denison falls to 0-4.  The Big Red's next game will be on Sunday (Nov. 29) when they travel to Mount St. Joseph for a 3 p.m. tip-off with the Lions.
