Men’s Lacrosse Erupts for 19-Goal Win Over Wabash

Crawfordsville, Ind. — Denison men's lacrosse put together an outing on Wednesday evening, erupting for 14 first-half goals on the way to a 19–4 win over Wabash.

The Big Red set the tone immediately with eight unanswered goals in the opening quarter, highlighted by finishes from Michael Cassidy, Anthony Savoy, Colin Swanson, Kevin Berutich, Liam Gillard, and a pair from Macky Peck. Denison's pace only intensified in the second quarter, adding six more goals to build a commanding 14–0 lead.

In the second half, Denison stayed in full control, adding five more goals and keeping the pace steady on both ends of the field. Cassidy, Peck, Swanson, Berutich, and Frank each found the net after halftime, highlighting the team's depth. The Big Red continued to move the ball well, push transition opportunities, and maintain possession to close out the convincing win.

At the faceoff, Denison was dominant, winning 21 of 26 draws, giving the offense repeated opportunities to extend the lead. The Big Red were nearly perfect in the clearing game as well, finishing 18-for-19 on the day. Defensively, Denison allowed just eight shots on goal and made the most of their chances on special teams, converting 2-of-3 man-up opportunities.

Cassidy led the offense with five goals, while Peck, Gillard, Swanson, Berutich, and Brady Monturio each tallied multiple goals. Monturio was exceptional as both a scorer and facilitator, posting two goals and six assists, and Jonah Frank added a goal and three assists to anchor the attack. Jack Moellering and Grant Larson also contributed key helpers throughout the game.
