Three Big Red Earn NCAC Athlete of the Week Honors

4/6/2026 5:25:00 PM

Cleveland, Ohio - The North Coast Athletic Conference recently announced their Athletes of the Week for the week of April 7th, and three Big Red received distinction. Senior Isabella Dolan of women's golf, junior Madilyn Moffitt of softball, and junior Maia Nowicki of women's tennis each earned honors after impressive weeks.

Dolan, a senior golfer from St. Petersburg, Florida, received her fourth NCAC Athlete of the Week award of her career after displaying a solid three-round performance at the Max and Susan Stith Invitational. Dolan shot a total of 232 (+13) over three rounds, while posting her best round in round two, where she shot a 75 (+3). She finished tied 16th out of all competitors, and the Big Red finished sixth out of 16 teams in a highly competitive field.

Moffitt, a junior pitcher from New Castle, Indiana, earned her first NCAC Pitcher of the Week award with career days in the circle. Moffitt pitched a complete game shutout in the Big Red's 1-0 win over Marietta, only giving up two hits and walks, and had a career-high 10 strikeouts in what would be the Pioneers lowest hit-output in a game this season so far. She then returned against DePauw, where she pitched six innings, giving up two runs on five hits, walking two, and striking out one in 24 batters faced in a 3-2 win. In total, Moffitt pitched 13 innings between two games, gave up two runs on seven hits, walked four, and struck out 11 in the two wins.

Nowicki, a junior tennis player from Des Plaines, Illinois, notched her first NCAC Athlete of the Week award after going 3-0 in singles play and 2-1 in doubles at the Midwest Invitational. In her three singles matches, Nowicki would go perfect, defeating Kate Herlihy of North Central 6-1, 6-3, and Nicole Henning of No. 38 Grinnell College 6-4, 6-4 in the semifinals. In the finals, Nowicki was one of two Big Red to win their match against No. 33 Gustavus Adolphus, where she defeated Ella De Young 6-1, 6-3. In doubles, Nowicki, along with her partner Maddie Larsen, would go 2-1 with wins over North Central and Grinnell before falling in the final in a tough 7-6 (10-4) loss.

The Big Red women's tennis team returns to action Wednesday, April 8, at 4:30 pm against Kenyon for a conference meet, while softball heads to John Carroll on Saturday, April 11, for a doubleheader starting at 1 pm, and women's golf gets a sizeable break before heading out to Wittenberg for the Pahhni Spring Intercollegiate from April 19-20.
